This is a collage where we found a piece of fine art and then used Photoshop to incorporate other elements. I was on a Japanese kick and found this really cool painting to work with.
My classmates and I were each given a month with a list of events that take place in that particular month. I got August and chose the Old Fiddler's Competition. We had to design a poster for the event.
We were given dimensions and a list of menu items for this assignment where we had to create a menu from scratch. It's designed as one piece so you're looking at the front on the left and the back on the right.
These were blakc and white ads were for a local gourmet popsicle shop here in Nashville. They make all kinds of unique flavors. The owners showed up for our critique and then took them all for a 'competition' at their shop. Each week they posted a bunch of them for the customers to vote for their favorite. They did it for five weeks and one of mine made it to the finals... it didn't win the top spot though. Good times!
This assignment was to come up with a concept and create a design for a billboard campaign. It was for the YW Domestic Violence program. My concept was to use models that appear to be safe in order to illustrate the way abusers can be anyone.
This is Fred Woodward. He used to be the creative director of Rolling Stone. He's currently the creative director of GQ Magazine. We had to pick a designer, research them, write a report and then design a book cover in their style.
Sorry the images are a little dark! This was an assignment where we had to pick an event, create a quote of our own and then illustrate it with text in a way that the reader is able to know what event it is referring to.... can you guess it correctly?
We had to take a word and illustrate it visually using text. Typography I is not done on the computer - everythins is hand rendered. PAINSTAKINGLY hand rendered for hours and hours and hours and hours....
